Forgiveness...Try it on!
Brothers and Sisters,
With all that we see and hear in the world I'm sure we have all thought to ourselves about how we got to where we are now. Wars everywhere, disease spreading globally, violence and crime everywhere. Some may lay blame on others like, let's say, our current administration, they're an easy scapegoat.
I propose that it is something more than the people we see. A wise person once said "...to tear down a factory or to revolt against a government... is to attack the effects rather than causes; and as long as the attack is upon effects only, no change is possible. The true system, the real system, is our present construction of systematic thought itslef, rationality itself. In addition, if a factory is torn down but the rationality which produced it, is left standing, then the rationality will simply produce another factory. If a revolution destroys a systematic government, but the systematic patterns of thought that produced that government is left intact, then those patterns will repeat themselves in the succeeding government." How do we tear down the system of thought that places us in the world we see today. Really there is only one sure-fire way, change our thoughts and live the change we want to see. I'm sure we're all aware of the fact that we cannot control others, for its that very fact that places us in the systematic degradation of individual liberty we find in all external systems such as government. By there very nature, external systems impose restrictions upon individual liberty, it is the nature of external systems.
To change the way we think is not an easy task, and finding a system of thought that produces our desires is even harder. About two-thousand years ago there was one who proposed a way, I believe his name was Jesus and he proposed forgiveness. Even today, many wise people propose that same thing, and no they are not Christians. Whatever religious belief you may hold, or credo you attest to is of no matter.
The one thing that permeates these philosophies is that forgiveness is a good thing. Even more than a good thing "forgiveness is the expression of unconditional love". Is there a reason to hold back unconditional love, and remember, when you give love, you feel love? Consider this, "If you seem to have non-forgiveness in your heart towards someone, ask yourself at whom or what are you really restricting your love? Is it the person that invokes the negativity you are experiencing, or is that you have some come to the idea that they do not deserve your love because they have not acted according to the way you think they should live?"
Then forgive yourself and the other person and get on with your life". Remember that were all at different stages in our lives, but at no point is it healthy to harbor negative emotions and thoughts in your body and mind. To release that negativity, consciously choose to forgive the cause of that negativity.
After all, forgiveness, is a choice; just as anger and hate is a choice. Everything that arises in the ethers of our consciousness is allowed to do so because we allow it on some level, either subconsciously or consciously. What is a more powerful way to bring about the good we all have hoped for in life than to actually create the vibrations of positivity in the situations that seem to be the betrayal of all that is good?
Have you ever wondered how actors and actresses bring about emotions that seem so real? It is because they are completely real emotions brought about by how they operate their consciousness. "The mind then works to bring into creation that which we mentally think. Any emotion we may put to some of our thoughts then solidifies those thoughts even more... our thoughts are creations of our mind". What does this all mean, "this says that we very much are involved in creating our own reality. Our thoughts have power" (David Miller).
Speaking from my personal experience with forgiveness, the interesting thing about forgiveness is that it moves me beyond the idea that there is something I need to forgive. As such, I realize that all is in perfect accord already, it is the idea that it's not that drives the fear behind my narrow scope of realiy. If I believe the world needs to change for things to be better in my, I am not owning the reality that my experiences are my experiences; consequently, I give up my responsibility for all that have created in my life. More importantly, I give up my personal power to step into that dimension beyond the illusion of the idea that something needs to change before I experience the bliss and happiness that I am composed of.
An illusion is ultimately an idea that I take as a reality for which there is no base upon which that reality to stand, it is simply a mirage in the mists of a confusion filled mind. Aboslute verification really happens in the experience of that which lies beyond limited ideas and illusions. It takes willingness to be open and openeness to be honest with the experiences I stake my identity upon - willingness to look deeper, openness to have my identity shattered by the deeper realization that I AM beyond all ideas, and honest to be forthright in my inquiry. Ideas are mental fabrications and are ultimately as transitory as the seasons.
The only place where the ideas that seem real are shattered by the illumination of my awareness is the moment of Now. Complete and total merger with the moment of infinite eternity. Being conscious is a path that walks both the objective and subjective realities. Buddha called it the Big Mind.
If I may offer any advice it is to Be conscious, watch your thoughts because they have more power than you may realize and live the forgiveness that so many great people have before us. I'm not hear to try and tell you what to do or think, I'm here to offer you something to think about.
All I ask is that you think about it, and look within your own mind both the logical and intuitional on whether or not this message is right for you.
If you feel that this message could help someone you know, or you can attest to it, all I ask is that you pass it on. Remember that we can only begin to change the world when we ourselves live the change we wish to see in the world.
In Peace and Love
Michael
