The SOUL Purpose of Life

Posted on Apr 6th, 2007 by Mystic : Peacemaker Mystic
Well did you know da pen
Is stronger than da knife
They can kill you once
But they can’t kill you twice
Did you know destruction of the flesh
Is not dē ending to life
Fear not of dē anti-Christ
Did you know that I
Exist before the earth
And did you know my eyes
Are window to the world
Did you know you can't go ah Zion
And ah wear jerry curls
Can't tell dē boys from dē girls
Your bodies just a vehicle
Transporting the soul
It's what's inside da people
Is beauty to behold
Fear not of evil
Every day dem flesh it grow old
Changes of the times take a toll

(Damian Marley)

What’s the point in living? Ever asked that before?

How bout, “Why am I here?” Or, “Is there really a point to this life that has been granted to me?”

There are many systems that have been created to answer those questions. What happens when those systems are inadequate to really answer those questions? Is it possible that there is only “One True Path” or “The Way” like many religions claim? If so, what religion is right – Hindu, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Taoism, Gnosticism, Tribal Religions…which one?

Which one is “The Way?” Is it possible that they all are “The Way?” What if none of them are “The Way?” What would that mean for you?

Really...answering these questions with an open mind and heart may reveal to you something that could free you from a perpetual cycle of fear and death.

As Damian Marley said, “They can kill you once, But they can’t kill you twice, Did you know destruction of the flesh Is not dē ending to life, Fear not of dē anti-Christ. Did you know that I Exist before the earth, And did you know my eyes, Are window to the world…”

Asking those questions above and listening for the answer from your soul will reveal to you that there IS only “One True Path,” but that path is different for EVERYBODY. The “One True Path” as it pertains to me is a path that is completely different than the path that you must take.

So what is Damian Marley saying when he says, “They can kill you once, but they can’t kill you twice, Did you know destruction of the flesh Is not dē ending to life?” He offers the answer a few lines later, “Your bodies just a vehicle
Transporting the soul, It's what's inside da people, Is beauty to behold…”

Is there really a point to this life that we’ve been granted? Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the illusion of life. What’s the illusion? “Fear not of dē anti-Christ…Did you know you can't go ah Zion And ah wear jerry curls…Fear not of evil…”

Fear is the ultimate illusion for fear is the prison of limitation. Fear constrains us from. Think of the last time you were afraid and it kept you from doing something you really wanted to do. Why did the fear hold you back? It was something you really wanted to do.

On that point, what is it that gives us purpose? Or, where does our motivation for life come from? Why do we feel passionate and purposeful about some things and others we could care less? Is it possible that you have a destiny to fulfill?

If you have a destiny, are you truly free? Of course, you have a choice to fulfill that destiny or not to. When we don’t fulfill destiny, or are not living a life of purpose – we feel it. Most often, we feel it with depression, anger, hate, regret, etc.

If we do walk the path that fulfills out purpose we find that there is nothing in this world that can knock us off our path except ourselves. As Confucius once said, “Out greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

The question must be asked, if we are to rise every time we fall and live a life that fulfills our purpose or destiny, where does that path lead? “Did you know that I
Exist before the earth, And did you know my eyes Are window to the world. Did you know you can't go ah Zion And ah wear jerry curls, Can't tell dē boys from dē girls.”

As Damian says, the path leads to Zion. But what is Zion, why is it that our appearance doesn’t matter and what doe s he mean that we can’t tell the boys from the girls?

First, consider what Jesus says in verse 22 of the Gospel of Thomas,

Jesus said to them, “When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female female; and when you fashion eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then will you enter [the Kingdom].”

Consider for a moment that the physical body we are all familiar with is only a “vehicle transporting the soul.” Where, then, is the vehicle transporting our soul? Wherever our choices take us! We are beings “made in the image and likeness” and in that is our free will that stems from the unconditional essence of the incomprehensible Unconditional Love that is God.

With that free will is our freedom to see life through the illusion of fear and death. Is it possible that when we see through the eyes of fear we create the fear that we see? If we do create the prison of fear that keeps us in illusion, what is the element within us that gives our ability to liberate ourselves?

Our soul! We have the choice to embrace our soul or ignore it. What would happen if we let go of all the constraints we place on “doing things the right way” to listen to the guide that leads us to our liberation? Consider that when we bring what’s within (our soul) to a place of recognition in all that we see, we are on the path to making “the two one, and the inside like the outside, the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be the male and the female female.” It is the soul purpose we are here; it is why we have life. To learn what we must to reunite in the oneness of our spirit and embrace the greatness that we truly are…Or, is it?

A Journey Into the Unknown

Posted on Apr 21st, 2007 by Mystic : Peacemaker Mystic
Have you ever felt so deeply called to do something that there was really no choice of whether or not you should do it, it felt more like an obligation to yourself?

What if you knew that what you were being called to do was leading you to a place where you always wanted to go?

Imagine, for a moment, that this is the case; except the one drawback is that you have no idea of how it will work out, it's as if you are literally walking blind and deaf. Would you follow your heart, or allow the opportunity to fade away into an "I wish I would have when I had the chance" for fear of the unknown?

Maybe you can relate, maybe not. Either way, I would like to take this time to share with you a story about my life. It's a story that has a level of knowingness that I've never before experienced and, yet, it involves walking straight into the unknown.

On a return trip from Austin Texas, where I took part in an experience more commonly known as Vision Force Boot Camp that, in my eyes, was nothing short of an explosion of consciousness; it became blindingly apparent on that return trip that I had to make a decision. Either stay in Nebraska and continue to struggle, living a life of compromise and comfort, or return to Austin and to a place that felt more like home than any home had felt since I was a little kid.

The decision was an easy one to make, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I had NO IDEA how it was going to work out. I didn't know where I was going to stay, what I was going to do for a job, how I was going to get down there, and the countless other questions that arise when faced with making a life changing move.

Here's the kicker, without knowing anything, except that Austin was where I needed to be, I made the commitment to be down there by May 1, and the commitment was made about 2 weeks prior

I was literally walking into the unknown. Some people call me a free spirit because I have tended to float from place to place, but this time was different. In the past my floating involved going to places I didn't really feel called to go and having a general knowing about how it would work out in advance.

This time; however, all I knew is that I had to go, and had no clue about how it would work out. And on the day of writing this letter, which is April 21, I still have yet to know how I'm getting down there. I now know where I'll be staying for until I can get settled, and I now know what I'll be doing; beyond that, I still have no idea.

The interesting this is, where I'll be staying and what I'll be doing only came about after I made a commitment to myself and to someone else. Before making that commitment, I realized that if this is what I truly want I have to be willing to sacrifice everything in order to achieve it, and the level of commitment only comes about by the level of willingness, and through the commitment, the willingness multiplies.

This could also be related to the Law of Attraction, in that I when I let the universe know exactly what I wanted by way of my commitment, the doors to manifest it were almost immediately opened up, all I had do was walk through the door and I would have it. However, I still have no idea how it will turn out. I know I'm going down there…I know where I'll be staying until I get settled…and I have a general idea of what I'll be doing, but I still don't know the infinite other variables.

Why am I telling this story?

Well, consider that life is the "great unknown," in that we really don't know anything. Even the experiences we have in life. We have the experiences but how we see them is through one specific lens, and what we know from that experience is filtered through that lens. In the filtration process we leave many variables behind in the filter.

Let's look at what a lens is. A lens is basically a mechanism designed to focus in on one specific object. It doesn't mean that the object of focus is all there is to the story, suppose that there is much more to the picture than the object of focus.

What would happen if we removed the lens, or used a different lens? Would it be that we would see a new or different perspective? Does it then mean that the new perspective is the absolute truth of the experience, or does it mean that it is only an alternative?

Consider that the many variables we filter out, all add up to the unknown and that all we know for that brief moment in time is the object of focus; and after that brief moment, it moves back into the realm of obscurity.

It has been said that "the past doesn't exist and the future is obscure." So, I ask, is there really any means to know anything?

Presume that knowingness doesn't involve logical analysis but rather embracing the truth of the moment and living in the truth of every moment.

What do I mean by this?

Well, bear with me on this, what would happen if we allowed the past to dictate our actions; meaning, what is it about the past that we are absolutely certain about, that we know we can act according to that conditioning and it will lead us to the place we want to go? What if that conditioning is what is leads us into a perpetual cycle of reliving our past over and over again and it really leads us nowhere? Is it because the conditions that we follow are a path that is paved and it's easier to walk so we simply take the easier route?

As I see it, embracing the truth involves letting go of the conditions to be fully present in the moment and aware of the call that leads to the manifestation of the vision that comes from the ever-evolving purpose and passions that give us life.

What would happen if we embraced the greatness that lies in the center of who we truly are? What would we see possible? Would we allow ourselves to continually face that unknown and walk towards the liberation of our consciousness and the enlightenment of our soul?

As Lao Tzu once said, "A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step."

Imagine you are on journey, and the destination is a destination you have never before been to, and in order to get there, you have to pave your own path. Picture a jungle and all you know is that there is mountain that you need to get to the top of, and there are no paved paths that lead to the top, no one has ever been there before, yet you know that this mountain is what you're called to climb.

Clearing away all the limbs, all the leaves, moving over the downed trees, wading through swamps, clearing away everything that blocks you from reaching the top of the mountain, step by step you journey up the mountain, but moreover, embrace the journey for what is and revel in it.

Now, on this journey up the mountain, do you think there will be points where you will fall, get stuck and maybe get lost?

Will that stop you from reaching the top? Will you let those setbacks hold you from reaching the destination?

Consider that the destination is only a stopping point to see that there is much more to this journey of life, and that the true value of what we are after is not in reaching the destination but in the journey it took to get there, and in the journey beyond the destination.

Would you let the conditions of the jungle hold you back from reaching the destination to see that life is much more beautiful that you could previously comprehend?

What could you do right now to take the next step on the journey of life? What is it that you truly see possible in your vision for life? Is there something holding you back from committing to that vision you see? Are you in control of your life or is life in control of you? Are you the "head" or the "tail," the cause or the effect, the master or the slave, "the one" or no one?

I leave you with two quotes from Lao Tzu, "If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading," and "When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be."

Much Love
Michael
